Golf
The 18-hole golf course, home to local golf legends Andy North and Sherri Steinhauer, dates back to 1925, making it one of the oldest and most beautiful courses in the city. Bordered on three sides by the University of Wisconsin's Arboretum, the course provides a fascinating and diverse backdrop where you can frequently view deer, wild turkeys, and sandhill cranes as you play. As a member, there are numerous opportunities to enjoy our 105-acre professional golf course. Sign up for a tee time and play 18 with friends or participate in one of our various outings. Compete for the coveted Director's Cup and Steinhauer Cup, play in one of our holiday tournaments such as the Independence Day or Memorial Day tournament, test out the new golf clubs on the market during the Evening on the Green, and enjoy cocktails and pointers from our exceptional golf pro Brad Peck at Sips ‘n Tips, or contend for a spot in the Mercedes Benz PGA Championship. Whether you are a casual or competitive golfer, at Nakoma, you are among champions. Nakoma Golf Club is the only club in the state with two major golf championship winners among its membership, both of which are products of our phenomenal junior golf program. Nakoma also offers many programs, including our Junior golf program for children 6 - 18, which gives our Junior golfers the chance to learn and play the game of golf within PGA-sanctioned guidelines. To meet the needs of all golfers, the trained professionals at Nakoma Golf Club offer private, semi-private, and group lessons for all skill levels. The combination of tradition and natural beauty make golfing at Nakoma one of the most memorable experiences in Madison, Wisconsin. | |
